Our Story
The Butteri was founded by a cosmetic formulator whose journey began with Shea butter.
What started as a simple attachment to Shea in early formulations evolved into a deep fascination with plant butters as a whole — their chemistry, textures, and how each interacts uniquely with the skin. This exploration led to the discovery of butters from around the world, each with its own composition, origin, and history of use in traditional skin care.
That growing passion for understanding and refinement became the foundation of The Butteri Lab — a boutique cosmetic studio dedicated to studying and designing advanced butter-based systems.

Our Inspiration
At The Butteri, everything begins with butter.
We’re inspired by the molecular intelligence of plant butters — how their lipid structures echo the skin’s own barrier and naturally support softness, elasticity, and resilience. From Africa to the Amazon, we work with over fifteen plant butters sourced from around the world, each selected for its unique ability to nourish, smooth, and restore balance to the skin.
In our lab, we study how these butters transform — from solid to fluid, from raw to refined — and how that same transformation can be mirrored on the skin. Through advanced formulation and precise chemistry, we design butter-based systems that deliver modern textures and measurable comfort while respecting the skin’s natural function.
